RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

• Lead structural casing design, active material formula iterations, and high-precision 2D/3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) for maintenance-free (VRLA), traction motive, and industrial energy storage lead-acid batteries to maximize energy density, extend cycle life, and reduce bill-of-materials (BOM) unit costs.
• Formulate, cast, and test advanced lead-alloy grid compositions (including lead-calcium-tin-aluminum and lead-antimony-selenium systems) to optimize electrochemical stability, retard positive grid corrosion rates, and minimize water loss during high-temperature float service.
• Design and execute small-scale and pilot-scale trial production runs, conduct electrochemical laboratory testing, and assemble prototype battery cells to validate active material paste density, curing parameters, and plate manufacturability.
• Spearhead deep-cycle and long-life battery technology R&D for industrial energy storage systems (ESS), customizing cell internal architecture, separator selection, and discharge characteristics to meet specific OEM client specifications.
• Perform diagnostic post-mortem failure analysis on field-returned or endurance-tested batteries using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD), and chemical titration to pinpoint microstructural root causes such as irreversible sulfation, grid oxidation growth, acid stratification, or separator puncture shorts.
• Establish standardized raw material inspection criteria (lead oxide purity, acid density, grid alloy grain size) and finished product acceptance protocols (capacity verification, internal resistance, high-rate discharge) to construct centralized product performance databases.
• Compile and archive critical engineering deliverables, including product engineering specifications, manufacturing process flowcharts, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), multi-level Bill of Materials (BOMs), and component quality standards.
• Partner directly with software, structural design, and plant process engineering teams during Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to resolve sample trial bottlenecks and guarantee seamless New Product Introduction (NPI) schedule compliance into mass production.
• Perform systematic tear-down analysis and competitor product benchmarking, track global lead-acid and hybrid energy storage technological patents, and gather actionable market intelligence to drive continuous product iterations.
• Lead cross-border technical alignment and technology transfer protocols between China HQ R&D engineering centers and local Malaysian factory operations, ensuring localized manufacturing lines comply strictly with corporate quality standards and ISO/IEC test guidelines.
