Project Overview
This role is for a water infrastructure project involving the design and site supervision of proposed distribution improvement works.

The project involves improving the existing water distribution network to support reliable water supply and system capacity. The role offers candidates the opportunity to be involved in the delivery and site supervision of a key water infrastructure project.

Your Role
As the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE), you will take a lead role in overseeing day-to-day site activities and water supply infrastructure works.

Working closely with the IOW and Contractor, you will monitor work quality, progress, and compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring you to manage site matters independently, identify issues early, and coordinate timely resolution throughout project delivery.

What You’ll Be Accountable For
• Supervise and monitor water pipe laying and associated water supply construction works.
• Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
• Monitor the Contractor’s work progress, workmanship, materials, and site activities.
• Coordinate with the Contractor, Client, utility agencies, and other relevant parties to resolve site and technical matters.
• Attend site meetings and coordinate follow-up actions on site issues and project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain site reports, inspection records, progress updates, and relevant project documentation.
• Monitor compliance with quality, safety, traffic management, and environmental requirements.
• Identify site issues early and coordinate timely rectification and resolution.

What You Must Bring
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university.
• Registered Engineer with BEM – mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant construction supervision experience.
• Experience in water supply, water pipe laying, or utility infrastructure works.
• Site supervision and contract administration experience will be an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with the Contractor and Client.
• Good command of Bahasa Melayu and English.
