Project Overview
This role is for a water infrastructure project involving the design and site supervision of proposed distribution improvement works.

The project involves improving the existing water distribution network to support reliable water supply and system capacity. The role offers candidates the opportunity to be involved in the delivery and site supervision of a key water infrastructure project.

Your Role
As the Inspector of Works (IOW), you will work closely with the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) to monitor day-to-day site activities and water supply infrastructure works.
You will inspect construction works, monitor workmanship and materials, and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements. This is a hands-on, site-based role requiring strong attention to detail, accurate site documentation, and proactive identification of site issues.

What You’ll Be Accountable For
• Inspect and monitor water pipe laying and associated water supply construction works.
• Ensure construction works comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
• Monitor the Contractor’s workmanship, materials, work progress, and site activities.
• Identify defective or non-compliant works and monitor rectification.
• Assist the ARE in coordinating with the Contractor, Client, utility agencies, and other relevant parties on site matters.
• Maintain inspection records, site reports, photographs, and other relevant project documentation.
• Assist in verifying work quantities, inspections, testing, and progress of works.
• Monitor compliance with quality, safety, traffic management, and environmental requirements.

What You Must Bring
• Diploma / Certificate in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognised institution.
• Registered as an Inspector of Works (IOW) with BEM – mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant construction supervision experience.
• Experience in water supply, water pipe laying, or utility infrastructure works.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with the ARE and Contractor.
• Good command of Bahasa Melayu and English.
