Packing Operator

Position Summary
The Packaging Department Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate and efficient packing of finished batteries and battery packs for storage and shipment. The operator inspects products at the final stage, applies correct labeling, packs to specification, and ensures every shipment meets quality, safety and dangerous-goods requirements. This role supports on-time delivery and protects the company’s product quality and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Packing and Production
• Operate packaging equipment and perform manual packing tasks, including sorting, wrapping, boxing, sealing, strapping and palletizing.
• Pack batteries and battery packs according to work instructions, packing specifications and customer requirements.
• Verify product type, model, quantity, batch and lot details against production orders before packing.
• Meet daily and shift production targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Perform basic line setup, changeovers and material replenishment (cartons, inserts, trays, labels, tape, shrink film).

Quality Control
• Perform visual inspection of finished products and packaging for defects such as damage, leakage, deformation, terminal contamination or labeling errors.
• Segregate and tag non-conforming products and report them promptly to the supervisor or QA.
• Check and apply product labels, barcodes, date codes and lot numbers accurately; confirm label scanning and readability.
• Complete packing records, checklists and traceability documents accurately and on time.

Safety and Compliance
• Handle batteries in accordance with safety procedures, including prevention of short circuits, drops, crushing and puncture.
• Follow dangerous-goods packing and labeling requirements for batteries (e.g. UN3480 / UN3481 / UN3090 / UN3091 as applicable, and relevant transport regulations).
• Wear required PPE at all times, such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses and ESD-safe wear where required.
• Follow lockout/tagout, machine guarding and emergency procedures; know the locations of fire extinguishers, spill kits and emergency exits.
• Immediately report incidents, near misses, overheated, swollen or damaged cells or packs, and any unsafe condition.

Warehouse and Logistics Support
• Move packed goods to staging or warehouse areas using pallet jacks or manual handling techniques.
• Maintain FIFO / FEFO practices and keep finished goods properly identified and stored.
• Support inventory counts and stock reconciliation when required.
• Coordinate with warehouse and shipping teams to ensure orders are ready for dispatch.

Housekeeping and Continuous Improvement
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation in line with 5S standards.
• Perform routine operator-level equipment checks and report malfunctions.
• Participate in team meetings, training and improvement activities, and contribute ideas to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
