About the role
Borneo Assets Sdn Bhd is a 100% Bumiputera company established in 1986, active in construction (civil and structural works) and M&E services. We are looking for fresh graduates to join the PROTÉGÉ-RTW programme and learn the full scope of quantity surveying on live projects.
What you will do
- Assist with measurement and taking-off from technical drawings
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BQ) and project cost estimates
- Assist in preparing tender documents, including contract conditions and technical specifications
- Check prices submitted by contractors and subcontractors for suitability and accuracy
- Assist in evaluating interim payment claims and prepare payment reports and certificates
- Monitor actual project costs against budget and flag any overruns or savings
- Prepare and cost Variation Orders, and coordinate approvals with relevant parties
- Review contracts and identify key clauses, and support the QS supervisor or contracts officer with project administration
- Prepare cost progress reports and tender summaries, and keep tender and contract records
- Join site visits to verify completed works and actual measurements, and help coordinate between consultants, contractors and clients
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (Ukur Bahan) or equivalent
- Fresh graduate (the programme is aimed at graduates who are not yet in full-time employment)
- Good numeracy and attention to detail
- Willing to travel to project sites
- Good communication skills, a team player and eager to learn
