Celestica was established in 1994 as a wholly owned subsidiary of IBM. In 1998, Celestica Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. based in Kulim was established which makes the first Celestica plant in Malaysia. In Malaysia, we have a total of 10 entities with 5 in Johor, 2 in Kulim, and 3 in Pulau Pinang respectively.

In 2023, Celestica is expanding to a new location in Penang for a new Design Centre. The Penang design team will work closely with global design engineering teams in developing leading-edge Hardware Platform Solutions in Networking, Storage, and server solutions from general-purpose to customized Cloud, AI, machine learning, Edge, and 5G deployments.
