We are looking for a motivated, proactive, and responsible Project Engineer to join our team at Dover Elevators Malaysia. This role is suitable for fresh graduates and individuals who are eager to learn, develop their technical knowledge, and build a career in project management within the elevator and escalator industry.
As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in coordinating and monitoring elevator and escalator projects from the planning stage through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. You will work closely with internal departments, customers, consultants, contractors, and site personnel to ensure projects progress smoothly and are completed according to the required specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
We are looking for someone who takes initiative, is willing to learn, and does not wait to be told what to do at every step. You should be comfortable asking questions, identifying potential issues, following up on outstanding matters, and taking responsibility for assigned tasks. With proper guidance and on-the-job training, you will have the opportunity to develop your technical, coordination, and project management skills.
Previous experience in the elevator and escalator industry is not essential. We value a positive attitude, a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn and improve.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring elevator and escalator projects to ensure timely completion.
Coordinate with internal departments, customers, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and site personnel on project requirements and progress.
Review technical drawings, building layouts, project specifications, and site conditions to ensure project requirements are properly understood.
Arrange and coordinate site inspections, measurements, installation activities, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and proactively follow up with the relevant parties to resolve outstanding issues.
Conduct site visits to monitor installation progress, workmanship, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
Assist in preparing project reports, progress updates, technical submissions, and other project-related documentation.
Ensure project drawings, records, approvals, and documents are properly maintained and updated.
Coordinate with the relevant departments to ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available according to project schedules.
Identify site issues and potential project risks, communicate them promptly, and follow up on corrective actions.
Maintain clear and timely communication with all relevant parties to ensure smooth project execution.
Ensure project activities comply with company procedures, quality requirements, and applicable safety standards.
Assist in resolving technical and operational issues under the guidance of experienced team members.
Take initiative to follow up on assigned tasks and provide regular updates without waiting for repeated reminders.
Perform other project engineering and coordination duties as required.
Who We Are Looking For
Fresh graduates and diploma or degree holders in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or other relevant engineering fields are encouraged to apply.
Proactive, self-motivated, and willing to take initiative rather than waiting for instructions at every step.
Possess a strong willingness to learn, improve technical knowledge, and develop project management skills.
Responsible and accountable for assigned tasks, with the discipline to follow through until completion.
Well-organised, punctual, and able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
Detail-oriented when reviewing drawings, specifications, site conditions, and project documentation.
Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with different departments and external parties.
Able to identify problems, ask questions, seek guidance, and work towards practical solutions.
Willing to conduct site visits and coordinate with contractors and site personnel when required.
Able to work independently when necessary while remaining a reliable team player.
Basic computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
