SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Job Summary
We are seeking skilled Software Engineers to join our Research & Development (R&D) team, supporting software development, enhancement, testing and implementation for various moving vehicular applications.

The role involves software programming, statistical data processing, system validation, automation and performance optimisation, including technical collaboration with overseas project stakeholders and end users.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, modify and maintain software programs and analytical modules for R&D projects.
Develop data processing algorithms, statistical models and automated programming solutions.
Perform software testing, debugging, validation and quality assurance.
Develop reusable programming components, scripts and automated workflows.
Analyse complex datasets, identify programming issues and implement corrective solutions.
Support software research, development, system integration and performance optimisation.
Prepare technical specifications, programming documentation and validation reports.
Collaborate with software engineers, automation specialists and overseas technical teams.
Participate in technical discussions, troubleshooting and project coordination with stakeholders in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Ensure software deliverables comply with project requirements, quality standards and established procedures.

Academic Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Technology or a related discipline.
Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience Requirements
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in software programming, statistical programming, data analytics or related technical functions.
Experience in software development, program validation, debugging and technical documentation.
Exposure to R&D, software integration or automation projects is advantageous.

Technical Skills
Proficiency in SAS, Python, R, SQL or equivalent programming platforms.
Knowledge of statistical programming, data processing and analytical modelling.
Experience in software testing, debugging and quality assurance.
Familiarity with automated programming routines, scripting and reusable software components.
Ability to develop and maintain technical specifications and documentation.
Knowledge of software development methodologies and system integration.

Language Requirements
Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese, both spoken and written as applicable, is required to facilitate technical communication with project stakeholders, development teams and end users based in Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Ability to understand and interpret technical discussions, software specifications, project documentation and development requirements communicated in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
Proficiency in English for technical documentation, reporting and internal communication.
Ability to coordinate technical discussions, troubleshoot programming issues and communicate project deliverables across multilingual teams.
