WORKSHOP MANAGER

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, organize and supervise daily workshop fabrication and production activities.
- Arrange manpower and assign work according to project schedules and priorities.
- Monitor cutting, drilling, fitting, welding, grinding, painting and finishing works.
- Ensure fabrication follows approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
- Check dimensions, alignment, welding quality and completed products before delivery.
- Control materials, reduce wastage and report shortages.
- Monitor workshop machinery, tools and equipment condition.
- Supervise workers’ attendance, productivity, discipline and safety.
- Ensure proper PPE, housekeeping and safe working practices.
- Prepare daily/weekly production progress reports and coordinate with project/site teams.

Requirements:

- Diploma / Certificate / Vocational Qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Fabrication, Structural Steel or related field.
- Experience in steel fabrication or related workshop environment.
- Supervisory or workshop management experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding, cutting, fitting and assembly.
- Able to read shop drawings and fabrication drawings.
- Familiar with UB, UC, RHS, SHS, channels, pipes and steel plates.
- Good leadership, manpower management and problem-solving skills.
- Safety-conscious, quality-focused and able to work under pressure.
- Able to communicate in Bahasa Malaysia and/or English.
