SUPERMARKET GENERAL WORKERS

• Stocking and Merchandising:
• Unload merchandise deliveries and move stock to shelves, fridges, and freezers.
• Rotate stock using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method, placing older items in front and checking sell-by/expiration dates.
• Remove expired, damaged, or spoiled goods from display areas.
• Customer Service:
• Greet shoppers warmly and help them locate products around the store.
• Answer product-related questions and make recommendations.
• Assist customers with inquiries, returns, or handling complaints.
• Cashiering and Front-End Operations:
• Operate cash registers, barcode scanners, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Process cash, credit/debit card, and digital/UPI payments.
• Weigh produce, pack items into bags, and balance cash drawers at the end of a shift.
• Store Cleanliness and Safety:
• Keep aisles, shelves, and check-out counters clean, swept, and free of hazards.
• Dispose of empty boxes, trash, and packaging waste safely.
