SUMMARY OF POSITION
Excellent opportunity for a dynamic person to join a cable manufacturing company as a Tooling IE
Manager in Kulim, Malaysia. Manage the Tooling and Industrial Engineering team and drive productivity,
automation, capacity optimization and tooling readiness.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
• Manage the Tooling and Industrial Engineering (IE) team.
• Manage tooling, fixtures, harness boards, jigs, applicators and production equipment.
• Ensure tooling and machines are available and ready for production.
• Improve production processes, productivity and efficiency.
• Conduct capacity, manpower, machine utilization and time studies.
• Support production ramp-up and new project introduction.
• Identify and implement automation and cost-saving projects.
• Improve line layout, material flow and workstation processes.
• Manage tooling maintenance, modification and improvement.
• Work with suppliers for tooling and machine development.
• Lead continuous improvement and productivity projects.
• Prepare CAPEX proposals and support equipment selection.
• Lead and develop engineers and technicians.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
• Experience in cable assembly, tooling, IE or manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading engineers and technicians is an advantage.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of crimping, cable assembly, tooling and automation.
• Good knowledge of capacity planning and productivity improvement.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
• Degree/Diploma in Engineering or related field.
