The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring all safety procedures, regulations, and practices are followed at telecommunication project sites. This role plays a key part in promoting a safe work environment and supporting compliance with relevant occupational safety standards and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments.
• Ensure workers use proper PPE and follow safe work practices.
• Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards.
• Conduct safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions.
• Maintain safety records and documentation for audits and reporting.
• Coordinate with project teams and contractors to enforce safety standards.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Occupational Safety & Health or related field.
• Registered with DOSH is an advantage.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in telco or construction industries will be a plus point.
• Good knowledge of OSHA and site safety practices.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites as required.
• Possess own transport and a valid driving license will be a plus point.
