Mid-Level Software Engineer (PHP)

Key Accountabilities

● Write computer code using industry-standard software development and design methodologies aligned with functional requirements.
● Study existing code, improve and refactor where appropriate, and participate in troubleshooting and debugging activities.

Teamwork

● Collaborate with business analysts, graphic designers, and other project team members to develop software concepts, interface designs, and application architecture, and translate them into high-quality code.
● Regularly update team members on development progress and effort estimations to support accurate planning and smooth project execution.
● Actively share ideas, information, and constructive feedback while embracing input from others to achieve common team goals.

Testing

● Review and test software components to ensure compliance with design requirements and expected system behaviour.
● Embrace and implement test automation practices to deliver high-quality code efficiently and support rapid software releases.

Research

● Research and troubleshoot code-related and performance issues.
● Study program specifications to gain a deeper understanding of functional requirements, coding standards, and performance expectations.
● Explore and experiment with new technologies, methodologies, tools, and components to improve product robustness, resilience, and performance.

Personal Development

● Continuously participate in industry events, read, and contribute to relevant publications to enhance professional knowledge and career growth.
● Pursue learning and educational opportunities in related fields while employed.

Job Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
● Solid knowledge of and hands-on experience with PHP (Laravel) or similar programming languages.
● Good understanding of SQL/MySQL and database concepts.
● Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple deadlines.
● Creative problem-solving skills with a strong work ethic and a can-do attitude.
