The role ensures all NDT activities are planned, executed, verified and documented in accordance with approved drawings, inspection specifications, applicable industry standards, quality requirements and project schedules.
Responsibilities
・Review NDT drawings, inspection specifications, technical standards, welding specifications and relevant engineering documents to identify applicable NDT standards, testing methods and technical acceptance requirements.
・Develop, review, and coordinate NDT procedures, acceptance criteria, inspection workflows, testing sequences and technical requirements for structural steel and enclosure structure works.
・Provide technical guidance on testing method selection, procedure qualification, defect evaluation, equipment calibration, personnel qualification, and other factors affecting testing accuracy, structural integrity and inspection quality compliance.
・Monitor on-site NDT execution, personnel operation, equipment usage and sampling testing activities to ensure all inspection processes are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, technical requirements, drawings, and applicable standards.
・Review on-site testing conditions and identify technical issues that may affect testing accuracy, defect judgement reliability, structural safety and project quality compliance.
・Coordinate with structural, welding, quality, inspection, and project teams regarding NDT technical requirements, drawing technical clarification, inspection scheduling, and non-conforming defect rectification matters.
・Support on-site NDT execution, witness testing and re-test activities, review relevant inspection reports and test records, and coordinate follow-up rectification and alternative solution actions for identified defect issues.
・Review and maintain NDT testing records, inspection reports, equipment calibration records, personnel qualification certificates, test result logs, and other relevant NDT technical documentation.
・Assist in investigating NDT-related technical faults and quality abnormalities, analyze root causes, and coordinate practical corrective and preventive measures to ensure stable inspection quality and smooth project progress.
・Provide NDT engineering guidance and share relevant inspection knowledge, acceptance procedures, quality control practices, and on-site technical experience with local technical staff to support knowledge transfer.
Requirements
・Bachelor's degree in Non-destructive Testing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; ASNT Level II / III certification is preferred.
・Minimum five years of relevant NDT experience in construction or industrial projects, with experience in structural steel NDT management preferred.
・Strong knowledge of NDT systems, testing principles (UT/MT/PT/RT), acceptance criteria, inspection quality requirements, and applicable industry standards.
・Practical experience in developing or reviewing NDT procedures, inspection workflows, testing sequences, inspection schemes, and NDT-related technical documents.
・Familiar with structural steel and enclosure structure weld inspection, base material testing, defect evaluation, equipment calibration, personnel qualification requirements, and key factors affecting NDT quality.
・Practical experience in coordinating on-site NDT inspection, testing activities, quality verification, and rectification of inspection-related issues.
・Proficient in interpreting construction drawings, NDT specifications, technical standards, inspection reports and testing procedure documents.
・Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify on-site NDT technical issues and coordinate practical technical solutions.
・Proficient in Microsoft Office, NDT data processing software, AutoCAD, and other commonly used engineering and technical documentation software.
・Good communication and coordination skills, willing to work on-site, and fluent spoken and written Mandarin to communicate effectively with overseas clients and international technical teams.
