JOB OVERALL PURPOSE

1. Responsible for the repairing and servicing of the electrical aspects of common areas and ensure smooth operations of the building facilities.
2. Assist the Chargeman in carrying out his duties.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform inspections of the electrical services to ensure smooth operation at all times and in accordance with ISO procedures. To change parts or components as and when necessary.
2. Assist in the inspection and testing of the efficiency and functioning of the stand-by generator for backing-up of electricity to meet emergency needs in the event of power failure; ensure that common areas are lighted up at all times.
3. Inspect and test the functioning of the water pump every month at the Pump House (RC Tank) and domestic tank; ensure that the water pressure is consistent; inform the superior in order to carry out the repair works immediately on any detection of abnormalities.
4. Facilitate and monitor TNB personnel in reading the electricity meters monthly including sub-meter records.
5. Monitor and ensure that all works being carried out by the contractors are in accordance to the specification during renovation.
6. Inspect and perform repairs and maintenance works.
7. Prepare inventory listings; stock flow control of electrical items and materials and issue Purchase Requisition when stocks run low.
8. Troubleshoot and carry out repairs and maintenance work for minor electrical defects.
9. Assist and relief fellow colleagues to perform his/her work tasks in the event of short handedness. Ensure that colleague(s) brief on their duties and responsibilities to avoid any misunderstanding or miscommunication on the work process and procedures and to work as a team.
