1. Job Summary
The Manufacturing Operator (Bricks) is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining machinery used in the production of bricks (such as clay bricks, concrete blocks, or fly ash bricks). The role involves preparing raw materials, overseeing the shaping, cutting, pressing, or molding processes, monitoring drying and kiln firing stages (or wet concrete curing), and ensuring finished products meet regulatory quality standards and safety guidelines.
2. Job Description
Machine Operation: Setup, calibrate, and operate brick-making machinery including crushers, batch mixers, extruders, cutters, hydraulic block presses, and automated stacking equipment.
Material Preparation: Monitor the precise blending of raw materials (clay, sand, aggregate, cement, fly ash, water, and chemical additives) according to batch formulas.
Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor production line flow, extrusion moisture, pressure levels, mold filling, and drying/firing parameters to prevent defects such as cracks, warping, or uneven edges.
Quality Assurance: Inspect product samples at various stages for dimensional accuracy, weight, color consistency, and strength; immediately report or segregate off-spec or damaged bricks.
Routine Maintenance & Cleaning: Perform daily pre-operation checks, clean molds, dies, and mixer drums, lubricate moving parts, and clear material jams safely.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to plant health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during cleaning or maintenance.
Record Keeping: Log operational data, daily production output numbers, scrap/waste quantities, and equipment downtime logs.
3. Job Requirements
Education: High School Diploma, SPM / Vocational Certificate, or equivalent. (Technical certificate in mechanical/industrial maintenance is an advantage).
Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a machine operator or general production worker in a manufacturing environment (experience in building materials, concrete, or non-metallic mineral products is preferred).
Physical Requirements:
Capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20–25 kg regularly.
Stamina to work in noisy, dusty, or high-temperature environments (near drying ovens or kilns).
Work Schedule: Willingness to work in shifts (including day/night shifts or weekends) and overtime when required.
