Operator

1. To repair, overhaul, service and replace if necessary, the plant machineries, such as air compressors, blowers, rail wagon/line, conveyors, geared motors, pneumatic equipment etc.
2. To refurbish equipment and ensure spares are available whenever necessary.
3. To read and interpret mechanical drawings and to use them to fabricate articles by arc-welding, acetylene cutting, drilling, tapping, fitting etc.
4. To perform weekly and other periodical examination and maintenance (repair) work on internal vehicles; forklift and locomotives (to check battery water level and to refill, if necessary).
5. To perform routine and periodic greasing and lubrication of equipment as scheduled or as required or assigned by the superior.
6. To attend to equipment breakdowns and carry out troubleshooting, repair and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
7. To complete and maintain simple maintenance reports, inspection records, checklists and other as provide by superior.
8. To ensure all mechanical tools, equipment and maintenance facilities under your responsibility are properly maintained, safely used and kept in good working condition.
9. To carry out regular inspection and scheduled AM/PM of the respective equipment/vehicles (forklift and locomotives) and to update all records and checklist for the activity (including to switch off all the machineries include lightings, blowers, fans etc., if not in use/operations) and to take corrective action in the event of breakdowns.
10. To ensure plant 5S and carry out regular cleaning of machineries and its surrounding/building and other related equipment under your responsibility and to liaise with the Technical Executive in the event of breakdown.
11. To carry out assigned process line inspection during maintenance periods and to report all problems to the Technical Executive, Production Engineer or HOD.
12. To carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the superiors.
