TRAINEE ENGINEER (PRODUCTION)

Job Description

1. Lead and manage a team of supervisors, operators, and general workers to ensure smooth daily plant operations across shifts.
2. Oversee all aspects of worker management, including safety and health, performance, skills and competency development, attendance, and disciplinary matters.
3. Review and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all plant processes, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
4. Analyze and troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional departments—including Planning, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Operation, Purchasing and Safety—to meet production schedules and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
6. Optimize production processes and minimize waste to achieve significant cost savings.
7. Promote a safe work environment and ensure consistent implementation of 5S workplace organization practices.
8. Verify and maintain accurate manufacturing documents and operational reports.
9. Participate in monthly stock takes and prepare inventory reports for the Finance department.
10. Coordinate worker duty rosters and submit overtime records to the HR department for accurate monthly payroll processing.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, major in Engineering, Chemical, Process, Manufacturing or technically related field.
2. 1-2 years’ experience in chemical/fats & oils/palm oil processing industry is preferred. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
3. Able to work under pressure and independently with a high degree of commitment.
4. Basic understanding of HACCP, GMP+FSA, and export-related compliance (e.g., SMETA, CTPAT).
5. Strong leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and team coordination.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Willingness to work extended hours when required.
